Internal IAS Workshop on Knowrob, CRAM and Semantic Perception

Purpose

The purpose of this workshop is to introduce some of the core technologies developed in the IAS group over the last years for knowledge-enabled service robotics to our freshmen, colleagues from Bremen and guests.

Prerequisites

  • Your own laptop with Ubuntu and ros-electric-desktop-full package installed (Please verify that e.g. Gazebo and Rviz are running smoothly)
  • Basic knowledge of ROS: http:www.ros.org/wiki/ROS/Tutorials * Create an account at http:code.in.tum.de and send your account name by email to Moritz
  • Download Protege 4.1 from http:protege.stanford.edu/download/registered.html and do the Protege tutorial: http:owl.cs.manchester.ac.uk/tutorials/protegeowltutorial
  • Scroll through the following websites: KnowRob: http:ias.in.tum.de/research/knowledge, CRAM: http:ias.in.tum.de/research/cram, Semantic Perception: http:ias.in.tum.de/people/pangercic/mapping. * Download perception_pcl_electric_unstable (http:svn.pointclouds.org/ros/trunk/perception_pcl_electric_unstable/) into your ros_workspace and run "rosmake pcl". This will compile pcl package inside the perception_pcl_electric_unstable stack and shall take up to 1 hour.
  • Run "svn co http:alufr-ros-pkg.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/freiburg_tools; roscd freiburg_tools, rm -rf rosgui_paramedit" in your ros_workspace and compile the whole stack * Run "svn co http:alufr-ros-pkg.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/articulation" in your ros_workspace and compile the whole stack
  • Install the Ubuntu packages ros-electric-roslisp-support and ros-electric-ros-tutorials.
  • Run "svn co https:code.ros.org/svn/ros-pkg/stacks/roslisp_common/trunk roslisp_common" in your ros_workspace * Run "git clone http:code.in.tum.de/git/cram-pl.git cram_pl" in your ros_workspace. Then "rosmake cram_pl".

10.00 - 14.30 - Discussion in subgroups (group KnowRob, group ProbCog (learning), group CRAM, group Perception, group NLP). Topics from Michael. Everyone is invited to participate, please pick up the group of your choice.
